Mid means mediocre. Not terrible, not good, just unremarkably average. The worst part of mid is that it doesn't even warrant real criticism. It's the shrug emoji as a verdict. Calling something bad at least implies it provoked a reaction. Mid says you didn't even manage that.

People love it because it's devastating in its indifference. Three letters that cut deeper than any insult because they deny the target the dignity of strong feeling. Worth documenting because it reveals what this generation fears most: not failure, not hatred, but irrelevance. The nothing zone. The space where no one bothers to have an opinion.
