About e11_collective

e11_collective is a contemporary art practice working at the intersection of culture, technology and design. The projects begin with objects, language and systems already shaping contemporary life, then examine them as cultural material. Rather than separating art from the worlds of business, engineering, technology and design, e11 is interested in what those worlds reveal about the period we are living through.

The collective structure also allows different people and areas of expertise to contribute to projects without making the identity of a single artist the centre of the practice. The emphasis is on the ideas, the objects and the cultural territory surrounding them. Current projects include Stratosphere, which looks at business aviation through the aircraft window, and Receipts, which uses contemporary language and internet culture to examine identity, status and social behaviour.
