Ballroom walkers were slaying categories long before TikTok existed. The internet democratized it but the origin is specific and deserves remembering.

People love it because it turns everyday moments into victory. Got dressed well? Slay. Nailed a presentation? Slay. It compresses triumph into a single command. Worth documenting because it traces a direct line from marginalized communities to mainstream vocabulary, a pattern that defines how English actually evolves.
