LOVE _ is not an aviation term. It is one of the oldest, most familiar, and least containable words in language. Its meaning shifts depending on who says it, where it appears, and what is being asked of it. In the Stratosphere series, after terms drawn from clearance, navigation, weather, performance, status, and internet culture, LOVE _ arrives without needing a specialized glossary.

From an aviation perspective, the word matters because of where it is placed. Inside the frame of a business jet window, LOVE _ enters a world built around distance, speed, privacy, and control. Much of aviation language is designed to remove ambiguity. Love does the opposite. It introduces feeling into a system that normally depends on precision. At altitude, where geography thins into cloud, horizon, and light, the word becomes less sentimental and more elemental. It names something carried through the flight rather than calculated by it.

Art historically, the work is compelling because it risks directness. On a mirror, LOVE _ reflects the viewer into a word that is almost impossible to approach neutrally. It can read as address, confession, memory, or demand, depending on what the viewer brings to it. On a sky painting, gradient, or cloud field, the word becomes quieter and more atmospheric, set against openness rather than social exchange. The underscore keeps it unresolved. The word is complete as a sound, but not as an idea. It continues.

Automotive paint, acrylic, polymer  and varnish on mirror, mounted with sealed engineered wood fiber panels. Executed with proprietary airbrush and silkscreen techniques.
